Oh, that was so good. And so close to real I couldn't believe it. Prolley 'cause my Mother-in-law had dementia and that's probably what it was like for her. Loved it.

Thank you for the kind comment, Ben. I’m very sorry about your experience with your mother-and-law.

Iain McGilchrist has a few fascinating books and online presentations that discuss some of the aspects of dementia. I’ve also been reading his works on lesions to the right hemisphere of the brain and how these can lead to profound changes to the way people perceive their world.

My mother-in-law’s dementia was a shock to both of us. But my wife handled it like a real trooper. She was patient with her, and realized that if you don’t look at certain aspects of it with a sense of humour, it will break your heart. The poor woman had no idea at the best of times, and then moments of clarity where she understood. It was heartbreaking, but that’s the way of it isn’t it? She lived to be 95 and had a great life. That’s all anyone can hope for.

A beautifully told little story, Daniel about the ghosts we carry with us to the very end. A tragic ending in this tale, but, maybe one that was also uplifting as well

Excellently done 👍🏼
