Feels like such a gracious and heartfelt honoring of those who tried so hard to persist and survive another hell on earth! You really seem to be channeling someone who lived that, such empathy!
I feel honored to have received this comment. Thank you very much. My great grandmother (on my dad’s side) lived through the Dust Bowl (she was in TX). Ken Burns produced a wonderful documentary on the Dust Bowl a few years back. If you have a chance to see it, I think you would really enjoy it. I was in tears through half of it. And it ends with Woody Guthrie’s song, “So Long, it’s been good to know you”. And I just broke down.
Hey Daniel, I've been meaning to come out here and tell you how much I enjoy reading your work. This poem caught me off guard in the best way. It's so evocative. Thanks so much for all that you put into your work.
Andrew, thank you so much for leaving this comment! This truly means the world to me. It’s been so long since I’ve exchanged emails with you. If you have a spare moment, drop me an email and maybe we can coordinate a call.

I feel like I discovered this poem in an antique journal or a rare book shop. Your poems are like undiscovered classics.
Once again, you’ve really made my day. I haven’t received a comment this marvelously framed—EVER! Thank, you Jacquie!
P.S. - I have some weekend reading to catch up on. 😉
This is the kind of poem that reminds people of how amazing poetry really is. Excellent!
