You’re an amazing poet. Have you ever considered writing a collection? These are such beautiful collisions of the problems of the modern world and the wisdom of the past.
Well, you just really made my day, Shaina! I’m glowing! In all honesty, I never wrote a line of poetry until last year. I was always more drawn to prose and didn’t think I had the ear for poetry. Part of it was a rather discouraging professor who dismissed an “attempt” at it back in the day.
But I’m really impressed with your own writing style. I’m kind of envious, because I couldn’t write as well as you’re writing now when I was your age. My style in my 20s and 30s was turgid and quite constipated. I was so focused on the way I was writing that I didn’t really care about the substance of what I was writing, so there was a frigidity to it that’s gradually begun to thaw as the shadows lengthen.
Thank you again for the compliment. And if I ever produce enough poems (more than the three I currently have 😂) I may consider publishing them.
I really feel like you've found something here. Ironically I love poetry and mostly wrote poems and songs for the majority of my life. Unfortunately I'm not that good at it! (Probably because I always tried to cleverly disguise my real feelings with absurd and overly complicated symbols). Yours are so raw and real. It makes me feel a lot. I really respond to it.
Prose is my relatively new adventure in writing, and I think I may have found something I really want to pursue. Thank you for reading. It means a lot to me and has kept me going in some of my annoyingly insecure times. I love your work!
