Jim, this is such a nice comment. I really appreciate the encouragement. This story was literally unpremeditated. I thought it was going to be two-parts and now I’m not wanting to rush it.
Regarding the research, the details are mostly stuff I’ve picked up over the years of desultory readings in things like 19th German and Austrian history, the occult, and Catholic history.
Thank you so much again Frank for the nice comment. I can’t express my thanks enough for reaching out to me a few days ago with the detailed critical notes. They were so helpful. I’m really honored to have been put in touch with such a sympathetic reader as you!
Glad if they were helpful, you should probably take what I say with a dose of salt. To paraphrase a common critical expression, 'those who cannot write, read and criticize'. Oh so much easier!
Lecker, Lecker! 😅 that chapter was yummy and rich with supernatural fibers. Weaving in real texts like that, clever!
I'm just riveted by this story.
Thank you so much for this comment, Jacquie! ☺️
My gawd, I love these segments. This story is freakin' awesome! So authentic. You must have done a ton of research.

I got chills when he read that last line of the account. Wowowow. Incredible writing ✍️
Thank you so much, Winston!!! 😊
Oh boy, David, that was pretty intense -- or like the girl says...riveting!
Chiils!
Loved the feeling of dread that carried this Part forward. And poor Hermann is trapped with fear and guilt at every turn!
