Just a wonderfully written story, Daniel. People sometimes dismiss world building as something that just happens when you’re writing, but the level of characterisation and detail you put in to each scene is a joy and makes the reader completely immersed in every moment
Thank you so much, Daniel. This is a period of German history that has always fascinated me, but it’s not as well known I think by people these days. A few of my ancestors from the region were as devout as I’ve tried to make the character Hermann appear. It’s been fun trying to write from a world view that is a bit alien from our own, but not entirely divorced from it. And I’m really grateful for your commenting on the characters. Thank you!!! 😊
